Patten Seed Company in an on going effort to make seeding a centipede lawn more successful has introduced the unique Super-Wrapped® technology.  The addition of disease protection and nutrients to the coating enhances the establishment of your Centi-Seed® lawn.   The ability to distribute seed evenly insures a more uniform stand and quicker cover.

1. What are the benefits of Patten Seed Company's new wrapped seed compared to the older product?

Patten Seed Company's new wrapped product allows the user to distribute the seed more evenly and accurately. The Super-Wrap allows more healthy seeds to germinate and when they do we have included nutrients and root stimulants to encourage the best growth. The fungicide in the SuperWrap protects the young plants from seedling diseases.

2. Why Super-Wrap® Centi-Seed®?

Our ongoing research, development and evaluation of the newest seed technologies, has convinced us that now is the optimum time for Patten Seed Company to market a wrapped Centi-Seed that will offer a true advancement in planting technology.

3. What is the difference between Super-Wrapped® Centi-Seed® and other coated centipede seed?

All seed coverings share a number of fundamental similarities. Using our 50 years of experience in the Centipede growing industry, our Super-Wrapped® Centi-Seed® has been specifically formulated to address what we feel are the special needs of the young seedlings.

Super-Wrapped® Centi-Seed® improves lawn establishment:

• Costs less to plant than inferior grasses

2. Does the seed wrap help the seed absorb moisture?

Yes – absorbed water is held near the seed.

3. Does the wrap help the seed germinate faster and cause more seeds to germinate and/or persist as healthy plants?

Though germination time is usually the same you may notice emerged seedlings earlier because of better placement and protection from disease a higher percentage of seed will germinate and grow. Super-Wrapping 'makes every seed count'.

4. Does the wrap contain nutrients?

Yes – the wrap will contain a nutrient source that will be readily available to the emerging seedling roots.

5. Does the wrap decrease the need for a fertilized planting area?

No. The seed wrapped nutrients will only be available to the seedling in its very early stages; it does not replace the need for a good starter fertilizer.

6. Does the wrap make planting easier or better?

Yes to both. Planting will be easier because there will be no need to bulk up seed with sand. Because wrapped seed are heavier and denser they are thrown farther and more uniformly producing a more uniform cover.

7. Does the wrap contain fungicide?

Yes – Seed will continue to be coated with Apron for damping off and Pythium control in seedlings.

8. Does the wrap stimulate root growth?

Yes – Super-Wrapped® Centi-Seed® contains a natural growth hormone.
